| Grade/Subject Area | Math Grade 9 | A great site is http://www.math.com , a math tutorial for students to use especially prior to tests. Another idea I use is having an open book homework quiz on selected questions from the previous night's homework. |

| Grade/Subject Area | Math Grade 7-9 | Students are each given a different mental math strategy to 'teach' the class. They teach it with help, if necessary, ex. overhead. They also create a test to give the students. What better way to show they understand, than to teach it. Strategies are given according to math ability. |

| Grade/Subject Area | Math Grade 7 | I love the ABC Round table where students write down a math word for each letter of the alphabet but only if they can show a picture/diagram to represent it. Also words with drawings presented on cards that can be placed around the room for ongoing review/visual aid to terminology are effective. Next year I am going to assign letters to each group to prepare and display. Other groups can visit the table and add anything that isn't already presented. |
